“Very traditional, nice but a bit dark rooms.
Heating was okay, we had enough firewood for the furnace.
Really nice host, very welcoming and motivated.”

Discover the Akdar Gorges and Local Heritage
Just 2.5 km from our location, your path begins towards the impressive Gorges of Akdar Mountain. Passing through the village of Aït Ali Oussiu, you will gain a rich and authentic insight into the local Amazigh culture.
The Akdar Gorges:
Easily accessible on foot or by mule-back from the village of Aït Ali Oussiu (6 km round trip), the hike will take you through picturesque mountain landscapes, dotted with wheat fields and fruit trees, tracing the oued (river) that flows at the bottom of the valley.
A Cultural Immersion:
Throughout the journey, you will witness the hard reality of ancestral land work, carried out by hand with only mules for assistance. You will encounter shepherds guiding their flocks to pasture, discover ingenious traditional irrigation systems, and admire traditional houses built from pisé (rammed earth/adobe). This beautiful walk will culminate dramatically as you discover and visit the spectacular gorges, whose walls rise to over 50 meters high.
The Historical Site of Hafoune and Zafoune
Located just 1.5 km from the Kasbah, the site of Hafoune and Zafoune is steeped in mystery. Its strange shape, which evokes a ghostly face, is the origin of many legends and beliefs in the valley. Do not hesitate to ask the residents of Aït Hattab; they will be happy to share these stories with you.
Speleological Exploration:
The region also contains numerous caves, some of which are very long and unexplored, and are therefore reserved for seasoned cavers. Further information is available upon request.
Hiking and Services:
Other hiking routes can be proposed to you on-site. Should you desire, we can accompany you on your excursions to guide you and answer all your questions. We can also arrange meals and, if needed, book mule(s) to facilitate your hikes.
