Welcome to Erg Chebbi
Why stay in a hotel if you are in the desert? Or why stay in a hotel tent, just beside a normal hotel? If you want to experience the real nomadic lifestyle, then you have the opportunity to do so with us!
What about driving in the sand? Never done it before? Don’t worry! We can pick you up either by camel or 4X4.
Although we offer you the most genuine introduction to nomadic life, you'll feel comfortable with us. There will be running water, electricity, towels, bedlinen, and toilet paper… yes, we meet all the international standards.
Camping in the desert is not mass tourism. Our small-scale camping makes you feel at home.
We have 8 tents, each for a maximum of 4 people, and each with their own private toilet and bathrooms.
Breakfast and dinner are automatically included, either outdoors or indoors in our restaurant.
Hamid is a Berber who has always lived in the desert and created this camp based on his own experience and lifestyle. Later, Maria, a tourist guide from Portugal, joined the project and the camp was refurbished, making it more suitable for the future.
This international couple is pleased to receive you in the desert, offering you a range of experiences that you will never forget like moroccan pizza workshop, trekking, camel and horse riding, 4 X 4 off-road driving, sandboard, motocross, bike, quad and buggy rides, as well as tours in the desert itself.
Taste Berber food with us, drink our tea, and listen to our gnaoua music! Or just simply… relax and forget about the stress of your lives back home.
The Sahara Desert is eight thousand years old, and Morocco is one of the countries within its vast area. Take your time to discover the desert with us or even just experience it for a night. We are located in westernmost Erg, a sand sea close to the rocky desert plateaus (hamada).
You may not think that the desert is full of life, but it is - there are camels, goats, sheep, and foxes, as well as insects like scarab beetles and caterpillars, and beautiful birds like the white-crowned wheatear (oenanthe leucopyga).
And if you think that the nomads belong to the past you are wrong - the desert is still anthropologically very rich.
