I am Mark Thamel the owner of the guest house. it was started by my parents in 1978 and since 1990 I manage it. We keep our place as a family running guest house and I do organize round tours with my guiding experience as a licensed chauffeur guide of Sri Lanka tourism.

Ocean View was started in 1978 as a home stay. There was only few places at that time for the back packers to stay. We had a great Ocean View at that time because there was no any buildings on the beach those days. Now we have Ocean View from our roof terrace. Now we have got 13 rooms and all are renovated recently to modern standards ,all of them have attached bathrooms with hot and cold water showers. We have got WiFi for free for house guests. We are specialized in organizing inbound tours as well. We do airport pick ups and drops 24 hours.

Negombo is the most convenient place for you to relax after a long flight. It takes only 20 minutes to reach here any time of the day. As we are open 24 hours it does not matter your flight arrival time. We are ready to welcome you 24 hours. When you are staying in Negombo you can visit The fish market except Sunday, then the open market Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday night bazaar, There are several catholic churches, Buddhist temples and Hindu temples with very colorful statues. You can go on a boat trips in Negombo lagoon and another boat trip in the Dutch canal through the villages. Negombo beach is wide and good for a swim and you can see the locals come with their children to the beach park every evening. There are lots of restaurants along the Lewis place and Poruthota road and this is the best place to have sea food in Sri Lanka.
