Ahas-poukna is Sri Lanka’s first all – Suite, luxury, private bush walks camp facility located in the lush hill country surrounded by wilderness. We offer an exclusive, close to nature, living environment that has not been available till now in Sri Lanka. Last leg of the Journey to Ahas-pokuna is only accessible by foot and requires a decent fitness level. You will be met at a pre-designated location and taken to camp along a 30-minute easy trek. All your belonging will be carried by us. The distance from Colombo to Ahaspokuna is approximately 200km. Your accommodation unit would consist of an arrival deck, sleeping tent, living area, wash basin lounge, a separate tent with a flushable toilet and an in-door shower that has hot and cold water, romantic star bed/day bed for you to relax or sleep in during the day or night, the first-ever bush bath tub in Sri Lanka which overlooks the grassland in the 1000 square metres of private space protected by an elephant fence. Our 2-night package rate includes all meals, beverages including wine, and all nature walks. We also provide facilities such as instructors for Yoga, meditation and traditional cooking sessions on request.

Ahaspokuna is well connected from the upper mountains (Nuwara Eliya/Hatton) and Udawalwe/Yala National Parks that are 2 to 3 hours away. Tangalle or Galle (Mirissa) could be connected to within 3 to 4 ½ hours. If you need to fly in, the closest fixed wing airport is just 2 to 2 ½ hours away. Helicopters could be landed very close to the site as well. Ahaspokuna is very close to a large man made reservoir called “Smanalawewa”. Closest village is called “Mulgama “and guests can experience a non-touristic real Sri Lankan way of life by visiting this village, which requires a 30 to 45-minute walk one way. You are entitled for four walks for the two nights you are staying with us. All walks will be guided by a professional naturalist and experienced bushmen who have lived in this area. On walks, we will focus more on the birds, amazing scenery, history etc. We are happy to customize these walks to suit to your interests.
