In the Ionian hinterland in the heart of the Eastern Aspromonte, located 327 meters above sea level, rises Antonimina. To the right of the inhabited center rises, as an eternal guardian, impetuous and solitary, the San Pietro mountain called "Tre Pizzi" for the curious three-pointed shape. At its feet there existed, as some ruins testify, a convent of Frati Eremiti. As for the origins, it seems that the country was founded by a group of shepherds who, during the fifteenth century, had settled there to better guard the herds. It follows, therefore, that the main reason that led the first inhabitants of Antonimina to settle here was that of pastoralism. The town center still preserves the name "terrata" which in local parlance means sheepfold: this motivates the name of our structure, located right in the heart of the country.
