Polignano a Mare (Peghegnéne IPA: ['pəgəɲe: nə] in the Bari dialect, until 1863 called Polignano) is an Italian town of 17.986 [2] inhabitants of the metropolitan city of Bari, in Puglia. The oldest part of the town stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Adriatic Sea, 33 kilometers south of the capital.
