This eye-catching house, on the Rock, Kinsale is a Tudor design house with furniture and Art pieces from all over the world. All of the rooms in the house are named after Irish Writers; Oscar Wilde suite, James Joyce room, Bram Stoker room, George Bernard, Shaw room, to name but a few. Regarding parking, we have free parking that may be possible on site and in the area. The parking on site is quite limited therefore we cannot guarantee every guest a space on site, however there are plenty of spaces in the surrounding area. Guests may park on site until the 2pm check out time on the day of departure.

is built on the site of the former Kinsale Beacon, which in times past guided ships as they made their way into Kinsale Harbour. Local folklore has it that the Friars of the nearby Friary tended to the beacon and kept its lamp supplied with oil. The Friary in question was that of the Carmelite Order. The Carmelites have been in Kinsale since the early fourteenth century, and they have continued ever since, through good times and not so good times, to minister to the needs of the local people – for all of 673 years. History records that circa 1334 a Norman Knight, Robert Fitzrichard Balrain, happened to meet a group of Carmelite Hermits who had fled from Mount Carmel in the Holy Land during the Saracen invasion. He built St. Mary’s Abbey in Kinsale and gave it to the Hermits, together with several acres of land. That land included the present site of the K Kinsale.
