The Potters Cottage is set in the garden of the The Old School House, which was originally built in 1838 and is one of the oldest properties in Clifden. The cottage was previously a Potters Workshop and we completed renovation on the building in May 2018. Situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, close to the town center and set in the countryside we are in the heart of the most unspoiled scenery. It is 400m to Clifden and an 10-15 minute walk to the nearest pub. It's only a 5 minute walk to the Greenway, as well as 10 minute drive to Ballyconneely. Great for scenic walks, beaches, golf, painting, fishing and running with direct access onto the cycle lanes.
I studied Interior Architecture at University, ran my own Property Recruitment Business for 15 years, have worked as a Consultant and Business Developer for many startups, as well as that I've worked in numerous retail outlets for the Interior Design Industry as both Merchandiser and Stylist.
I have traveled extensively around the world and have stayed in some amazing places. Thus leading us to set up our own self catering Guest House. Close to the town center and set in the countryside, we are in the heart of the most unspoiled scenery which is breathtaking. The sky in Connemara is amazing, the rainbows are exceptional, the changing weather is a pleasure and not a hindrance, especially when you have a beautiful fireplace to sit by with your family and friends surrounding you.
I love cooking, art and interior architecture. My family are my main priority and thus we moved to Clifden to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and commuting. I was born and bread in London and moved to Brighton for University, my husband on the other has strong roots in Connemara and he had always dreamed of moving back here and living a far simpler life, where the air and scenery are fresh.
A five minute walk to the Greenway, The Salt Lake and a couple of minutes walk to the Connemara All Blacks Rugby Club.
Here, and in nearby Maam Valley are the setting for such films as The Guard, The Field and John Ford's classic, The Quiet Man.
