John & Dolores are the owners of Mia's Cottage. The cottage is our second home so we love guests to respect the cottage. It is a very romantic place with something very special to offer. We just love this part of County Donegal with fresh sea air and hill walks.
Our favourite beach for sea swimming is Leenan which is close to the cottage. For long walks we go to Tullagh Beach. We also love to hike so the Urris Lakes Look hike is fab. Also Mamore Gap has lots of different hikes and walks.
We always visit Dunree Fort and Mallin Head for a scienic day out with a picnic.
As the roads around Clonmany are ideal for cycling, we spend hours on our bicycles visiting Dunaff pier and the water fall.
Our local pub is call CIS's Bar where the Guinness is a real treat. The local restaurant is The Rusty Nail where the food is excellent. Also music from 5pm on a Sunday.
St Michaels Church is close to our cottage and we always visit Mia's grave as she is the original owner of the cottage. we just love our cottage and surroundings in Leenan, Clonmany.
Close to Mamore Gap, Glenevin Waterfall, Fort Dunree , Ballyliffin Golf links, equistrian centre at Tuallagh Bay, Malin Head and sandy beaches .
The cottage is on a very rural private site surrounded by farmland. The views of the sea and Donegal Hills are all around. Guests love the peace and just getting away for a family gathering.
The Northern Lights can often be seen from the front of the cottage as it faces North to Malin Head and the Atlantic.
The cottage is close to Buncrana and Derry. The Lough Swilly Ferry travels across the Swilly to Rathmullan during the Summer months. Glenveagh National Park & Fanad Lighhouse is worth a visit.
There is so much to do and see in Donegal. Mia's Cottage is ideal base for touring all the sights.
