Cat's cabin is a cosy escape from the day to day busyness....its situated in a lovely spot looking over the River Erne....words to describe it are tranquil, peaceful, calm, therapy for the Soul A small development of log cabins set inside a wooded area and overlooking the river Erne. Less than 5 minutes by car or 30 on foot from Belturbet in Cavan. Very peaceful but close to amenities such as Cavan Adventure Centre, Killykeen Forest Park, Castle Saunderson, Cavan Equestrian centre and much more. Ideal for fishing either in the Erne river which the cabin backs onto on in one of the many lakes nearby. Golfers have a choice between a lovely 9 hole in Belturbet itself, Cavan Golf Club, Slieve Russell or the new Farnham Estate golf course about 25 mins away. If you are into Kayaking but don't have one with you, you can hire them at the Cavan Activity Center nearby, They also have them available for hire in Killykeen Forest Park. Walkers and trekkers are spoiled for choice. There are walking trails everywhere! Killykeen Forest Park, Castle Saunderson are just two examples but there are many more. In Belturbet itself there is a lovely walk around Turbet island. There is an private outdoor wood fired Hot Tub available to guests. Please note that the property backs onto the fast flowing river Erne. There is no fence or barrier blocking access to the river. While this is great for those who might like to observe the abundant wildlife in and on the banks of the river, it may not be suitable for guests with young children.

It was always my dream to own a cabin like this close enough to where I live but in a quite tranquil location overlooking a a lake or river. I found it in this cabin. This is where I go to relax and recharge. I love it here. For me it is about having lovely walks where I can go with my dogs or just sitting with a cuppa in the back garden (or in the hot tub) watching the ducks and swans swimming or flying past, the squirrels jumping from tree to tree and all the different kinds of small birds going about their business. I make it available a few times a year at times when I will not be using it.

The cabin is located in the heart of Cavan's lake district. They say there is a lake for every day of the week. Ideal for fishing and water sports enthusiasts. Cavan Adventure Centre is less than 10 minutes away where kayaks, canoes and SUPs can be rented. Cavan Equestrian Centre is 15 mins away. If you are into the history of the area and of railways, the old railway station in Belturbet has been restored and turned into a railway museum.
