This comfortable apartment is located on the main coast road about a 30-minute drive from Galway City Centre.
It is a very short walk to the beautiful sandy Spiddal beaches, village, craft centre, restaurant and Irish pubs. It is a great location to explore Connemara, the Aran Islands and the Wild Atlantic Way.
About this apartment:
Beachwood Cottage is a beautiful self-contained semi-detached unit with its own entrance and parking. It is located in a tranquil area and is ideal for two people looking to relax and enjoy a peaceful getaway near Spiddal in a scenic location. There is one step on entry to the property and a spiral staircase to go upstairs. It has an open-plan kitchen/living area and one downstairs bathroom. Upstairs there is one double bedroom with ensuite shower/toilet.
Our family live in the house beside the apartment and will be available if required to answer any questions that you may have, but equally we will respect your privacy during your stay. A folder is available in the apartment with brochures of local trips and restaurants. The apartment can be accessed via the code provided for the lock box, which is located beside the apartment front door. Please access the apartment via the door to the left hand side of the building.
Things to do in Spiddal;
There are many beautiful beaches just a short walk from the property. There is a lovely promenade and walkway around the village along by the sea. You can visit the local Craft Village which is opposite the beachfront. You can go for a Sauna and cold plunge at one of the local beaches. You can visit local pubs and bistro restaurant such as Builin Blasta near the craft centre. Have a look around Staundun Shop for local Irish crafts and souvenirs. There are playgrounds nearby for smaller children.
Things to do in Galway:
You can visit places like Galway City and the Claddagh area, Quay street and the Latin Quarter for live music, historical charm and a pedestrian.
On Shop Street in Galway city, you can visit Taaffe's bar for traditional Irish music and a pint of Guinness. There are museums and a Cathedral in the city also and some nice riverside walks.
In Salthill, you can visit the famous O'Connors pub which is full of very old Irish memorabilia. There are some lovely places to eat there including Blackrock Cottage and the Black Cat restaurant. There is an Aquarium there also which is open to visitors.
Other things to do in Galway:
Clifden Village in Co. Galway is lovely to visit with good pubs, shops and restaurants (65 minutes from Spiddal). Kylemore Abbey is beautiful to visit and has a lovely restaurant.
You can drive or get a bus to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher from Galway City (87 minutes).
Visit the Aran Islands on a day trip. Inis Mor is the bigger Island. To get there you can drive to Rossaveel Port and get the shortest ferry crossing (40 minutes) or you can get the ferry from Galway City 110 minutes).
