Shire Horse Barn and Threshers Barn are two very cosy barn conversions, rustic charm yet with all the comforts of modern day living. They are both self-contained units, sleeping 4 and 7 respectively, but they can also be used together as one unit for larger groups of 11 ( plus extra children on airbeds or cot) They share a communal entrance hall, and both barns have doors leading from this. There is a communal parking area, big enough for 4/5 cars, and extra parking outside the gate if necessary.
Both barns have underfloor heating, and wood burners. Each has its own garden, and the one in Threshers barn is completely enclosed - so very safe for dogs. Shire Horse barn can be enclosed by shutting the gates.
We welcome guests with dogs, and request that owners are responsible for not leaving any mess or hairs in the property from their pets !
The heath is right outside the gate - ideal for dog walking, with miles of woodland and heathland tracks, over 300 acres of glorious unspoilt countryside. It is a very peaceful and tranquil area, semi-rural, yet only a few minutes drive from shops and amenities.
You will receive full arrival details once the property is booked and paid for .
We are on a farm/smallholding, with views across the paddocks to our horses and onto the open heathland.
We are dog lovers ourselves and we welcome responsible dog owners. Our own dogs are often outside, so we respectively remind guests to keep their own dogs within the garden area, and to clear up after them.
Its just perfect here for dog walking and we invite you to access the heathland and take in the glorious countryside walks through heathland and pine forests.
Very safe for Children.Semi rural with plenty of space to run around and play on the heath. Marsham and Cawston Heaths are designated SSSI ( site of special scientific interest) where wild life is in abundance, and some protected species live here, such as Night Jars and the Blue Studded Butterfly. There are often wild ponies grazing on the heath behind my paddocks.
A tranquil and peaceful spot, yet only a few minutes drive from shops, pubs, and amenities.
We are about equi-distant between Norwich and Holt, each being about 10 miles drive
( 20 minutes) The nearest beach is Cromer a seaside town, or Blakeney and Cley - historic seaside villages, and well worth a visit.
There are many National Trust properties in the area. Blickling Hall is about 10 minutes away, a little further is Felbrigg Hall, and also within easy reach are Houghton Hall and Sandringham. The beach and Holkham Hall are about 45 minutes drive and highly recommended for a visit.
To the east are the famous Norfolk Broads ( about 30 mins drive) where you can hire a day boat and get out on the water !
Locally there also places to rent bicycles, and a spin along the coastal cycle paths is recommended.
