Situated on the ground floor of an attractive former textile mill, on the Pennine Way in North Yorkshire. The small village of Lothersdale is in a rural valley; five miles from Skipton and on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We can offer bike use, there are numerous country walks and the excellent water comes from an aquifer (no chemical treatment). The nearby towns of Skipton and Haworth are popular tourist destinations. There is good wifi speed. We have good brown trout fishing in season (late March to late September), please enquire in advance.
I also have Shed End (sleeps three) in the same building - so can host 5 (or 6 if a further single bedroom attached to the Workshop is required - please enquire).
Parking is directly in front of the entrance (see photo), in front of the main mill arch (green doors). There are three car spaces, please park in one (ie don't block all three or the mill entrance - thanks). Please don't park in the pub car park or elsewhere in the mill yard.
The washing machine and dryer are in.the garage area near the mill chimney, to the rear of the mill. Bikes and barbecue in same area.
Managing Director of an old textile mill in the north of England, which we are developing as mixed residential and commercial space.
Interests include history, gardens and the countryside, construction and design. I've lived and worked in many countries.
I am Director of Dale End Mills, Lothersdale and work in the mill; I'm generally available to give help and advice, a quick show-around or a full tour of the mill and grounds (for a fee).
Lothersdale is a small rural village, typical of the traditional Yorkshire Pennines. There has been very little modern development. We are right on the Pennine Way, along-distance hiking route. We provide info about things to do, including walks, visits and local activities. The nearest small towns are Crosshills and Earby, Skipton (with a castle and other tourist attractions) and Colne are about 5 miles away. The tourist towns of Haworth, Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough are about 45-minutes' drive away.
There is no public transport; guests will need a car if they wish to leave the village. The nearest train stations are in Cononley and (a little further) Skipton. There is private parking in front of the property.
