The Spindrift is an imposing Victorian residence built in 1870 for a famous tea clipper captain, Captain John Smith.
Set on the western edge of the picturesque town of Anstruther in the East Neuk of Fife, the area boasts a wide variety of activities and interests which are all with in easy reach of The Spindrift, Only a short walk to the harbour and town centre, The Spindrift is personally run by Mark and Jennifer Carmichael-Green and it is our aim to provide you with high standards of service .
Relax in our comfortable guest lounge. We are licensed to sell alcohol and have a wide selection of local and Scottish beers, wines, over 25 malt whiskies and a variety of Scottish gins for you to try.
We have free parking in the grounds and safe storage for bicycles and golf clubs, plus drying facilities.
We are close to the Fife Coastal Path and we are an ideal overnight stop.
The East Neuk (Scots for "corner") has its own special character. The quaint coastal villages form a unique chain of holiday and fishing locations, with their warm stone architecture featuring white-washed crow-step gables, red pantiled roofs, steep cobbled street and south-facing beaches
The area boasts a wide variety of activities and interests all within easy driving distance. There is an extensive range of outdoor sports including some of the finest links golf courses in the country. For example Crail Golfing Society, Elie, Lundin Links, Kingsbarns, The Old Course St Andrews and Anstruther's 9 hole course just 2 minutes from The Spindrift.
There is something for all to see such as - Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther Pleasure Cruises, Isle of May Boat Trips, Scotland's Secret Bunker, Kellie Castle, Kingsbarns Distillery, St Andrews Cheese Factory, Falkland Palace & Anstruther Lifeboat Station .
There is also a number Festivals including Pittenweem Arts Festival, Anstruther Harbour Festival, East Neuk Music Festival & Crail Food Festival
