Located in north-east Wales, lying on the estuary of the River Dee is the town of Flint, Flintshire’s third largest county town. Across the Dee, the Wirral can be seen from Flint, with views to the south of Halkyn Mountain. Flint’s name refers to the stony platform that the first castle built there was made from, and it is now a mixture of open countryside and bustling town. With excellent transport links you can easily access the neighbouring towns of Chester, Liverpool and even Manchester almost directly on the train, whilst still being close to notary places in North Wales like Llangollen, or Colwyn Bay. Flint has shops, pubs and restaurants, so you won’t have to venture far for everything you will need.
