Hi, I’m Amanda – an award-winning host and founder of Unique Cotswold Cottages. I’ve been welcoming guests since 2018 in my six lovely Cotswold properties. I love creating relaxing, stylish spaces that feel like a true home-from-home and I have refurbished all the properties I own to a very high standard.
I’m passionate about the Cotswolds and welcoming guests and you will get lots of tips on local walks, pubs and hidden gems. When I’m not hosting, I enjoy countryside walks, playing sport, interiors, and time with my family and pet dog Charlie. I look forward to welcoming you!

Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the Cotswolds’ most iconic market towns, perched on the highest point in Gloucestershire. Known for its rich history, honey-coloured stone buildings and stunning hilltop views, it’s a destination full of charm and character.
Wander around the town centre and you’ll find a wonderful mix of traditional tea rooms, cosy pubs, and independent cafés serving everything from cream teas to locally roasted coffee. Stow is particularly well known for its antique shops and galleries, making it a treasure trove for collectors and browsers alike. Whether you're after fine art, vintage finds or local crafts, it’s a fantastic place to explore at a relaxed pace.
The town is steeped in history, with its ancient Market Square once used for wool trading. Don’t miss St Edward’s Church, famous for its magical door framed by yew trees - it’s said to have inspired Tolkien’s ‘Doors of Durin’ in The Lord of the Rings.
Stow also boasts an excellent location for discovering the wider Cotswolds. Within a short drive you can reach:
Bourton-on-the-Water – the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ with its charming low bridges and riverside walks
Lower Slaughter and Upper Slaughter – idyllic villages with picture-postcard beauty
Chipping Campden – full of history, architecture, and independent shops
Moreton-in-Marsh – with a mainline train station for easy links to Oxford and London
For those who enjoy artisan food and drink, you're close to Hawkstone Brewery - founded by Jeremy Clarkson- which offers brewery tours, tastings, and a rustic taproom in nearby Bourton-on-the-Water. You can walk or drive there easily. And just a 15-20 mins drive away you’ll also find The Farmer’s Dog, a popular neighbourhood spot known for craft beers, relaxed vibes, and delicious sourdough pizzas.
Whether you're here for a romantic escape, a walking weekend, or a base to explore the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is full of friendly character, local flavour, and gentle charm on your doorstep
