周边信息
Overstrand is a pretty, coastal village just two miles south of its larger neighbour, Cromer. During the Victorian era was it known as 'the village of millionaires', and it was a particular favourite holiday destination for Sir Winston Churchill. Still retaining its old-fashioned seaside charm, this sleepy village hasn't changed too much. There is now a busy Cliff Top Café, popular with locals and visitors. You can walk along the sandy beach or coastal path to Cromer. A five mile coastal walk in the other direction will take you to the pretty seaside village of Mundesley.
There is a shop/ post office and two pub/ restaurants in Overstrand village. The 4* The Sea Marge Hotel and the AA rosette White Horse Hotel; both popular with visitors and locals alike. Cromer is also full of seaside charm and was recently voted one of the best coastal towns in the UK to both live and take a holiday. All year around there is something to do, whether it's spend days on the beach, play golf, walk the North Norfolk coastal path to Sheringham and beyond, go see a variety show at the Pier - the last remaining pier with a theatre. Enjoy the annual Christmas firework spectacular, sample some of the best fish and chips around, or a sweet Cromer Crab. Don't forget to visit the acclaimed No.1 Cromer, a fish 'n' chip restaurant owned by the acclaimed celebrity chef, Galton Blackiston. Or check out the new Fino Wine Bar, a neighbourhood restaurant serving modern British and European dishes. Head to nearby Sheringham and dine at Rocky Bottoms where you can enjoy some of the best seafood to a backdrop of clifftop sea views. There are also some other fabulous places to eat both in town and close by.
The National Trust properties at Felbrigg Hall, Blicking Estate and Sheringham Park are only a short drive away. For a special dining experience head to The Gunton Arms or Morston Hall.
