An easy non-steep 150m stroll via either the river Wye or directly down Buxton Road brings you to the heart of the peak district’s capital. With its tempting selection of tea rooms, antique shops, quality restaurants and real ale pubs, not forgetting the famous Bakewell Pudding and Tarts bakeries. There is an easy flat walk to the Bakewell Showground which hosts a variety of events throughout the year, as well as an area for fishing locations for trout or grayling along stretches of the river Wye. The entrance to the Monsal trail at Bakewell’s old station is just a 10-minute walk from the property where you can set off in many directions to enjoy the well known walks, cycle trails and various pathways that the peak district has to offer. In addition to year-round events held at the historic estates of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall just short drives away, this is a fabulous property to enjoy at any time of the year.
