Welcome to Dubarry Downs Apartment, a lovely ground-floor hideaway set on the side of Clevelands Country House. This charming apartment has its own private, fenced courtyard, perfect for relaxing outdoors or letting your furry friends enjoy some fresh air. The courtyard features comfortable outdoor furniture, a charcoal BBQ, a hot tub, and a pergola – ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the island. (Please note, there’s an additional charge for the hot tub, depending on the length of stay.) Inside, the apartment is perfect for couples, featuring a cosy open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining space, and comfy seating. The bedroom has a king-size bed, and the recently renovated bathroom offers a modern tower shower – everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Guests are welcome to use the shared lawn area and meet our Cleveland Cluckers, who might just gift you some fresh eggs (however being 'henopausal chicks' it's not often!). There are plenty of wonderful countryside walks right from the property. You can stroll up the Downs for stunning views of the island and south coast, or wander through Appuldurcombe Estate to Godshill, spotting alpacas, horses, sheep, and pigs along the way. The Red Squirrel Trail takes you into Shanklin, and you can also walk to Ventnor Radar Station for more breathtaking scenery. If you prefer the coast, the beaches of Shanklin and Ventnor are just a short drive away – or venture further to explore more of the island’s hidden gems. Dog-Friendly Stays We love dogs here! Dubarry Downs is dog-friendly, and the fenced courtyard means your VIPs (Very Important Pooches) can safely enjoy their holiday too. We provide dog beds, bowls, and poop bags, and please let us know if bringing doggo's, so we can make sure their welcome pack is ready! Local farmers just ask that dogs are kept on a lead near livestock, as there have been unfortunate incidents with farm animals being chased.

I moved to the island ten years ago and after working in the busy corporate world. I absolutely love the slower pace of island life. My partner has recently moved from London to the island and he is also enjoying the chilled vibe. We have dogs a German Shepherd and a Lab Lurcher so enjoy lots of walks. We are surrounded by fabulous countryside, the perfect place for dog walking, plus the beaches of Shanklin and Ventnor are close by. Firestone copse is a great place for dogs especially in the heat of the summer where the woods provide shade and they find a cool pool to jump into. Whilst summer is always great to enjoy the beaches, the water sports, festivals, Cowes Week, outdoor events, theatre, Ventnor Fringe, country fayres, concerts and the fabulous walks around the island. I'm going to let you in on a secret! Sssshhhh! The island is also fabulous in the autumn and winter months, much quieter, still great walks and the local village pubs have warming fires to enjoy a lazy lunch or warm up coffee and cakes. Autumn & Winter have a plethora of pub quizzes that are always well attended, not run in summer months as too busy. Brighstone Christmas Tree festival and the various Christmas markets are great events enjoyed by locals and our winter visitors. Traffic is quieter, ferries are easy to book and a lot cheaper, beaches are empty and there are more dog friendly beaches in winter months and you can enjoy some fabulous winter 'getaway' weekends. We are open year round and do some fabulous winter getaway deals.

Dubarry Downs Apartment at Clevelands is a great base for exploring the island. So many fabulous places to see and some great pubs serving delicious island ales and fare! Golfing, cycling, horse riding, SUP, sailing, kayaks and hiking. Ghost tours if you like a scary evening. Explore the south side of the island, in the past rife with smuggling; wrecking, find the dinosaur footprints (low tide) and visit the Dinosaur farm, along the Military Road. Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill, Tapnell Farm all great for kids. Lots of fabulous pubs and restaurants to suit every budget.
