Birch Tree Cottage is on the grounds of Talladh-A-Bheithe Lodge, a former hunting lodge of Clan Menzies. The Lodge and the cottage were built in 1840 and are surrounded by several acres of beautiful gardens and forest. A short stroll down the drive you will find yourself at the banks of Loch Rannoch. At our jetty, guests might spend sunny days swimming, reading, fishing, enjoying a picknick and having a bonfire in the evenings. Friendly and well behaved dogs (a maximum of two per stay) are welcome to enjoy our garden/park and the shore of the loch. The cottage boasts a double bedroom, a single room (walk through) and a family room (double bed and single bed). All bedrooms are on the first floor, along with the bathroom and extra toilet. There is a slightly steep staircase going up to the first floor. The well equipped kitchen and the cosy drawing room with views of the loch and mountains are on the ground floor. The cottage was renovated in 2017 (new windows, new entrance door and new back door, partly new kitchen). A new sofa bed sleeping two will be available from July 2025. We have our own water supply, the water is slightly coloured (from the moor/peat). It’s safe for cooking and washing but we recommend to bring your own drinking water. Electricity is not included in the rent, separate meter (please pay in cash at the end of your stay, thank you). Extra cleaning fee for pets. Extra fee when sofa bed is used (for bedding and towels). Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautiful garden of Talladh-a-Bheithe Lodge. When the weather allows, you may enjoy your meal on our garden terrace with stunning views of Loch Rannoch.
