The Isle of Sanday is one of Scotland’s best-kept secrets. Remote, wild and breathtakingly beautiful. Aside from complete peace and quiet, there’s also lots to see and do across this wonderful little island. Sanday boasts outstanding wildlife on land and at sea. You can see rare birds and flora, and perhaps otters, orca, and other marine species in the crystal-clear northern waters. There is a heritage centre, craft hub, artists’ workshops, archaeological sites, shops, a café/pizzeria, a 9-hole golf course, an abundance of brilliant walks and great cycling routes. The 600-strong population of Sanday organise and welcome guests to numerous events throughout the year including fishing trips, an agricultural show, lectures, dances (ceilidhs), lighthouse and wildlife tours, and a lot more.
