We are a French-German couple, a banker and an anthropologist, with deep family roots in this old French town of Vannes. After many years in Paris, we decided to move back and make this city our home again. We fell in love with these apartments with a majestic view within the old walls of the historic city. We bought them and painstakingly worked in renovating this place to revive its historical value while introducing modern creature comforts. We want to give all our guests an experience of not just visiting another pretty city in France but also travel through time in history. We have named our apartments Henri and Henriette, after HenriIV, king of France and his daughter Henriette, queen of England, who had found refuge on this street where the apartment stands today. Both were contemporaries of the time when this house was built in 1602. We hope that you will have a memorable stay.

You will stay right next to the cathedral, in the heart of the old medieval city. Cafés, restaurants, and elegant shops are all nearby. The city museum, La Cohue, is located next to the cathedral, while the history museum with its precious Neolithic collections is just around the corner. The colorful market takes place twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Simply walk past the church’s main entrance and down to Place des Lices to get there. The port is a 10-minute stroll through the old town. If you’d like to take a boat to visit the islands of the Gulf of Morbihan, it’s about a 30-minute walk, a short drive, or a ride on bus number 3 to the marina. Want to swim in an outdoor seawater pool from 1886 or relax on a small beach while enjoying a glass of wine or coffee with a stunning view of the gulf? Head to Conleau, just 5 km away. Bus number 3 will take you there. In the surrounding area, you can visit the standing stone fields of Carnac, the breathtaking Neolithic tomb of Gavrinis, the ancient abbey church of Abelard in Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, or the impressive hunting castle of the Dukes of Brittany at Suscinio, along with its beach.
