The property is located in Tuchan in the heart of Cathar Country. It was once an old Olive Mill Refurbished to a very high standard this old character property maintains its original charm with many quirky additions from its owner.Believed to date back to the early C16th. Surrounded by vineyards yet in the heart of the village, this property is an excellent base to discover the delights this area has to offer. The house has three suites . One suite with a double and single bed (two bedrooms). One adaptable suite with two bedrooms sleeping four . Both suites have private bathrooms/toilets. The third suite has a separate entrance, 2 bathrooms, kitchen ,laundry facilities,dining area and lounge, private outdoor area and views onto the shared pool.There is a large private walled garden, rare for a central village property. There is a large 10m x 4m pool (Shared) Tuchan has a supermarket, a butcher, a bakery(50 metres away) an ATM, 3 restaurants/bars and a petrol station. At Mont Tauch Cave in the centre you can taste the local Wine. NOTE: COVERED LOCKED PARKING IS AVAILABLE ON SITE THE ENTRANCE IS FAIRLY NARROW AND MUST BE APPROACHED FROM THE SOUTH . IT IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN THE VILLAGE . It is free. THERE ARE 2 FRENCH BULLDOGS HERE THEY DO NOT GO IN BEDROOMS .

The yearly summer fetes are brilliant fun for all the family, plus there are many historical fetes in the castles and villages . Never a dull moment .. and that isn't even the half of it ! You can also have a personal tour of the Vineyards (on request) from a local Vigneron and a tour of the Cave and wine tasting with translation into English or French . Come and Enjoy!!

The surrounding area is an area of outstanding natural beauty but as a bonus Carcassonne is 1.5 hours away, Narbonne 45 mins. Many Cathar Castles are in the local area - closest is Aguilar but Queribus and Perypeteuse are about 20 and 45 minutes away by car. Great area for Kate Mosse fans too !! Cucugnan has an old working windmill, a quaint village ten minutes away with good quality restaurants. The Corbieres 20 wine route is close by. The wild life park at Sigean is 45 mins. Terra Vinea, a 19 km underground wine cellar is about 45 minutes. Lots of beautiful walks and cycle routes are right on the doorstep. It is 32km to the Mediterranean beaches. Le Franqui has a long sandy beach and it is suitable for kite-surfing. Other beaches include Leucate,Toreilles Plage, Le Bacares and Argeles sur Mer. There is Aqualand at Port Leucate. Water skiing available at Port Bacares and at Leucate there is a Wakeboard Cable. Fresh oysters at Leucate are also not to miss. The local Bars - The Globe, The Relais d'aguillar and Le Camping Periere are excellent fun 2 with pools and all have good entertainment in the summer. Perpignan is only 25 minutes by car.
