Our idyllic house in Leynar, is a traditional farm house, built in 1865 and overlooking the Atlantic and Leynar River. This is a great base for discovering the Faroe Islands. Only 25 minutes drive from the airport, and 20 minutes to the capital Tórshavn. The allotment is along the Leynar river. The basement is a made out of rock and has originally been where the cow where kept during the winter. From the ground floor there is a beautiful view over Leynar River that runs along the allotment. Leynar beach and the atlantic ocean is a few hundred meters away. Next to the house there is a "hjallur" (meet drying shed), and a "hoyggjhús" (hay barn). There are room to park cars on the north side of the house. The house is equipped with central heating, and radiator in each room, so no matter the outside temperature, you will always be warm and cosy inside. Bed linen and towels are included. Please note that this is an old house, and the staircase to the bedroom 2 and 3 on the loft is quite steep, and not suited to small children, elderly or disabled.

The house is situated perfect if you want to explore Faroe Islands. It is situated 425 meters from the entrance to the sub sea tunnel to Vagar, on the road to Kvívik and Vestmanna (21). Leynarvatn the premium salmon fishing lake in Faroe Islands is only 1 km away. Fishing permit (June 15 to October 1) can be purchased at the Effo service station (3.9Km). Fishing from the beach and in the delta is free from October 1 to June 15. And strictly forbidden from June 15 to October 1. The capital Tórshavn is a 20 minutes drive away. The bus line no 100/300 stops 5 meter from the house. See photo with driving distances to selected sights. There is a supermarket in Kollafjørð (10km) and a Effo service station (3.9km) which has open off hours. A bigger supermarket is Vestmanna (13km). Tórshavn the capital is a 20 minutes drive away, with supermarkets, shoppingcenter, restaurants and cafe's. It is strongly advised to have your own car or other means of transportation.
