This former convent 40 km from Cáceres is today a stylish hotel. It has free on-site parking and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. The light rooms in Hotel Conventual de Alcántara are decorated in a minimalist style. Many have wonderful views of the countryside. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a terrace café. There is also a quiet garden filled with olive trees. The restaurant at the Hotel Conventual de Alcántara offers traditional Extremadura cooking. Its specialities include game, fish and rice dishes. Alldays: continental breakfast. Alcántara is situated in the west of Cáceres, just 11 km from the border with Portugal. It is well known for its Roman bridge and the Convent of San Benito. There is an outdoor swimming pool, only available during the summer season, and a terrace café.
