This historic, 4-star hotel is directly opposite the main university building in the centre of Jena. It offers fine Thuringian and international food, traditional-style rooms, and free Wi-Fi. The family-run Hotel Schwarzer Bär has spacious, brightly decorated rooms with wooden furniture and modern bathrooms. Big breakfast buffets, gourmet dishes, and international wines are served in the Schwarzer Bär restaurant. It has been listed in restaurant guides including Michelin and Gault Millau.
