About Us – Your Hosts with Passion and Experience
Sächsische Hospitality UG was founded in 2021 and has been operating the Hotel Alte Bäckerei Königstein since 2024 – our first and so far only property, run with great care, personal dedication, and attention to detail. In addition to hotel operations, we also provide regional catering services for a nearby event venue.
Our company is made up of a small, well-coordinated team of four employees. At the helm are two managing directors with decades of experience in the gastronomy and hospitality industry. Together with the entire team, we pursue a clear goal: to offer you the best possible service – day by day, and better with each passing year.
What sets us apart is our personal touch: we are not an anonymous hotel chain, but passionate hosts. Our guests can expect attentive service, the highest quality in every detail, and a warm, family-like atmosphere. Our philosophy is perfectly reflected in our motto:
"strikingly different from all others" in German“Auffällig Anders Als Alle Anderen” – the 5 As that define how we work and live.
With heart and a keen eye for detail, we have created a place where you don’t just feel comfortable – you truly feel welcome. With us, you won’t find the standard experience, but a stay that stands out in the best possible way.
住宿信息
It all began with a bold idea. Today, the first aparthotel stands proudly – right in the historic town center of Königstein, offering a unique view of the impressive fortress and situated directly on the famous Malerweg trail. Since March 2024, we have been welcoming you to the lovingly restored “Alte Bäckerei” with warmth, comfort, and personalized service.
Our small, family-run hotel offers nine spacious, individually designed apartments – each with its own unique charm. The furnishings are high-quality, stylish, and one of a kind: many of the pieces were custom-made or responsibly sourced to provide our guests with an authentic yet refined living experience.
As a privately operated hotel with a small, passionate team, our focus is on personal attention, genuine hospitality, and our ambition to offer you the best 4-star service in the Elbe Valley. We work closely with professional service providers to ensure cleanliness and maintenance – the building is always kept in impeccable condition.
A particular highlight is our breakfast: freshly prepared every day, varied, and made with love. Our team member crafts a delicious selection using regional and seasonal ingredients, wherever possible in organic quality – including fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, spices, and homemade specialties.
Whether you're planning a longer stay or just a short break – at the Alte Bäckerei, you'll enjoy a familiar atmosphere, individual attention, and the highest level of comfort in the heart of one of Germany’s most beautiful regions. We look forward to welcoming you!
周边信息
The town owes its name to the former castle and later fortress, which has stood atop Königstein since 1241, offering a magnificent view of the Elbe Valley and the surrounding landscape. Königstein is the ideal starting point for excursions and hikes into Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland, as well as to Dresden.
In the immediate vicinity of the town, you’ll find the impressive table mountains Lilienstein (415 m), the Pfaffenstein with its famous 43-meter-high rock needle "Barbarine", and the Quirl with the Diebskeller – the largest fissure cave in Saxon Switzerland. The three rock formations Gohrisch, Papststein (home to a charming mountain inn), and Kleinhennersdorfer Stein are also easily accessible from Königstein.
At the opposite side of the river Elbe you'll find the world famous Bastei, that has been providing its strikingly sceneric view as background to several movies, and is known around in Europe as one of the most "medieval and astounding" looking bridge and a location to disover that you'll never regret. a real Game of Thrones feeling.
The town itself offers a climbing hall and a boat rental for trips on the Elbe. The Elbe Cycle Route invites you to take long, scenic bike tours. Once considered the center of Saxon Switzerland, Königstein is well worth one – or several – visits. Come and see for yourself!
"Over there on the fairest hill in the vale,
It shimmers and glimmers in twilight's pale,
The castle crowns the rocky height,
The proud domain of the land’s greatest knight."
— Adolf Ritter von Tschabuschnigg, * July 20, 1809 – † November 1, 1877,
from the poem “Castle Loyalty and Castle Betrayal”
