Location, location, location. Some say that Whitehorse is just 20 minutes from The Yukon. While we all embrace our capital city as the economic, historic, and cultural hub of the Yukon, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the outskirts of the city and truly appreciate the wild expansiveness of this territory. Located just 25 minutes north of the Whitehorse City Centre--a short 10 minutes off of the Alaska Highway--The Big Red Barn sits in the heart of one of the Yukon’s most popular aurora and night sky viewing areas.
Just off of the North Klondike Highway–on the ‘Marge of Lake Laberge'–The Big Red Barn is easily accessible. While a buffer of trees around our 22 acre property creates privacy, the central area is wide-open so you can fully appreciate the Yukon’s brilliant night skies, the aurora borealis, or our summer's famous midnight sun. To experience a slice of The Yukon’s grandeur while staying within easy reach of Whitehorse’s attractions and convenience, a stay at The Big Red Barn will give you the best of both worlds.
Travelling with pets? Only one of our units is pet-friendly. Please reach out to see if we're able to accommodate your four-legged family member during your stay.
Your hosts…Krystal, Greg, kids, and our menagerie of pets recently moved to this property from the Carcross area. While The Big Red Barn is a new endeavour for us, we are seasoned hosts as we previously built and hosted at Cabins Over Crag Lake. While life ‘on the farm’ keeps us busy, we enjoy meeting visitors and look forward to hosting you in our Big Red Barn.
Just off of the property, you’ll find ample walking trails and rural roads, including pathways that will lead you to the Yukon River. We're a short drive to the world-class Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, and Bean North Café on Takhini Hot Springs Road.
