Melissa was born and raised in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, studied in Boston, summer chef on Martha’s Vineyard. 32 years working in Brussels on EU foreign policy issues with the UN, the EU, think tanks, NGOs and the private sector. Jaak was born and raised in Pajottenland, worked in restaurants, cafes, catering, banking, numismatics and general building contractor. Proud mom and dad. Extraordinary dog lovers! Excited to share our passions for cooking, hospitality and all the unique experiences Hallerbos B&B, Pajottenland and the Zenne Valley have to offer!

The 622-hectare Hallerbos Bluebell Forest is one of the seven most breathtaking forests in the world according to international Travel Daily Media. It is world famous for its fairytale valleys of purple-blue wild hyacinth bluebell carpets in the spring. Nowhere else in the world is the wild hyacinth found in such large areas as in the Hallerbos Bluebell Forest.
