The Tin Dragon is an 4 bedroom 120 yr old house recently renovated keeping the old and new together in harmony, with architraving inspired by Austrian artist Hundertwasser. The house is situated high on a half acre block (reasonably steep path to house from garage) overlooking the Rosebery Lake, and is between the Tullah Tavern and the Tullah Café. Close by is the Wee Georgie Wood steam train and the Mt Farrell hiking trail. Just 40 mins to Cradle Mountain & 1 hour to Strahan, this is an ideal location for you and your lovely family. Please note: you will need to bring firewood as we have not been able to come to Tasmania this season to cut any and no one in our town is commercially cutting wood. We are sorry for this inconvenience. There are heaters in all bedrooms, the lounge and the bathroom. Firewood is sold in the nearby town of Rosebery at the BP Monday to Friday.
Hello, we are thrilled you have chosen our quirky house for your break, and hope you enjoy how unique it is. We will contact you closer to your stay date to give you the lock box details. As we are not always available by phone, please contact us through the Booking dot com message box instead, so we can make sure we receive any important messages from you. Kindest regards, Casey
Next door to the house is the Tullah Café, where you can feed Cleveland, the alpaca. This is also the information centre if you need any help with what to do in our area. We have lakes and hiking trails very close by including Lake Roseberry, Lake MacIntosh, Mt Farrell, Lake Murchison, Cradle Mountain Murchison & Montezuma Falls. The start of the Mt Farrell track is a few metres up the road from the house, right opposite the Wee Georgie Wood train entrance. The train ride is very sweet, we can highly recommend it.
