Experience Noosa hinterland at beautiful towns such as Kenilworth, Mapleton, Montville and Maleny. You can easily spend weeks here on the Sunshine Coast and not see it all.
Narnoomia Farm Cottage is an eco friendly cottage and uses solar generated power with battery storage, a Clivus Multrum sustainable composting toilet and harvested rain water. Access is via an all weather gravel road ( < 2km).
The cottage is located on a working cattle, sheep and macadamia nut farm. It is situated away from any neighbours at the top of the property with magnificent views in all directions including the ocean off in the distance. Wallabies, birds, frogs and other native wildlife abound on this amazing Land for Wildlife property. Access is via an all weather road.
If you don't feel like going far then Mrs Browns Diner is just four minutes drive down to the end of Browns Rd. It is a popular spot for the locals for breakfast, lunch, dinner or an evening drink. Twenty minutes up the road is the country town of Kenilworth where you can visit the cheese factory, the Big Boss Chocolate Company or take on the donut challenge at the Kenilworth Bakery.
The famous Eumundi Markets, just twenty minutes down the road are held every Wednesday and Saturday come rain, hail or shine. This is Australia's Premier Artisan markets which sell handcrafted treasures all made by local artists. If you are looking for a special gift for someone then this is the place to go.
If you want to try a nature walk then you will find plenty close by. Mapleton National Park is 10 minutes from the property and contains many marked tracks through the Mapleton forest or you can explore one of eight trails of the Noosa Biosphere Trail network ranging from an easy five kilometer circuit up to twenty six kilometer tracks. The Noosa Biosphere Trail network is used by walkers, bikers as well as cyclists. We also have a couple of short walks on our property through the macadamia orchard. Help yourself to any nuts you find (the caramel coloured ones are the best).
You can also enjoy the waterways of the Mary River with your canoe or kayak with multiple entry points to allow for easy access in and out of the water. Get up close with the rare Mary River Cod, Australian Lungfish, platypus and Mary River Turtle. Stop along the way for a picnic on one of the grassy banks in the beautiful parks.
