Our pet friendly cottages are on 5 beautiful acres of natural bushland between the magnificent Great Ocean Road and renowned surfing location, Bells Beach. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 car spaces and is fully self-contained, complete with BBQ and outdoor entertaining area.
Families with up to 3 children will find the space ideal, with 2 single beds in the second bedroom and we can also set up a sofa-bed (available in 1 cottage), blow up mattress or porta-cot on request. Our smart TVs have Netflix, so you can keep the kids entertained while you relax in-between activities. Guests also have full access to the large lawn area in front of the dam, which is perfect for picnics, yoga, ball games, or just relaxing with a book.
Pet owners can bring their furry friend for a small fee per stay, with a maximum of 2 pets per cottage. There is no fence around the dam or the cottages themselves, and our fence won't keep pets in, but there are plenty of trees around each cottage to tie up their lead.
Long summer stays are easy, as each cottage is fully self-contained with all the essentials for a long summer stay full of trips to the beach, hiking or cycling all within a kilometre or two from your doorstep. Each cottage has a washing machine, detergent and outdoor clothesline and portable clothes airer, and plenty of space outside to stash your bike or surfboard.
Cosy winter getaways are made even cosier with an indoor fireplace with all firewood, kindling and firelighters provided in each cottage. The split system air-conditioning can also run reverse cycle to heat up the cottage, and plenty of extra blankets are provided. There’s even tea, coffee (Nespresso machine) and hot chocolate and a little milk to warm you up with a hot cuppa.
So wake up to the peaceful sounds of native birds and views of our garden and nearby dam relax, and spoil yourself at Bells Beach Cottages. The perfect year-round retreat for families, couples and lovers of the outdoors!
We love traveling and exploring new places, both locally and abroad, so it's wonderful to be able to host others who are traveling to our favourite part of the world!
Our travels usually cover exploring natural beauty of the local area, enjoying some downtime in more secluded and peaceful surroundings, and venturing out to indulge in local food wine and culture. Oh, and we love the water, so you could probably guess some of our other favourite places.
We like to give our guests’ space, but we are always contactable on the phone - either through messages or calls. And of course, we're always happy to provide local knowledge about the Surf Coast, so don't hesitate to reach out!
You can go hiking or mountain biking along the naturally beautiful Surf Coast Walk, which passes only a kilometre from your cottage. Try surfing or watching the action at the world-famous surf breaks, like Bells Beach and Winkipop. Or if you prefer to indulge, there are plenty of gastronomic delights at local restaurants. You could stay a little longer and go day-tripping the trail of local artisan producers of wine, cheese, beer, spirits and of course, chocolate!
There is also so much to discover just within 30mins from Bells Beach Cottages: Erskine Falls, Lorne; beautiful little village of Birregurra; swim with the dolphins and seals at Queenscliff; catch the Sorrento ferry from Queenscliff; discover the magnificent water front at Geelong and enjoy the waterfront bars and cafes; climb the lighthouse at Aireys Inlet (fabulous photo opportunity); horse-riding, bike-hire, surf lessons, surfboard hire.
We are a quick 8 minute drive from both Torquay and Anglesea, however away from the hustle and bustle. Both Torquay and Anglesea have supermarkets, coffee shops and petrol stations. It is best to have a car to travel to Bells Beach, as there is limited public transport. There are however lovely bush walks within walking distance of our property - just ask us and we will let you know where to go!
