I was apprehensive about staying in downtown but I felt really safe there. Also, the hostess was super kind and rushed to the property to let me in much earlier than when I said I would arrive! The price is a bargain!

Set in Asuncion, Mandioca Hostel features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, shared lounge, and free WiFi throughout the property. Historic old building, close to walking to Old Town Centro, easy to catch a bus to New Town restaurants and malls. SUPER NICE, friendly and helpful staff!!

Hostel is new and in constant improvement. There was everything that I needed: big kitchen (equipped with all sorts of tools), room for remote working, little garden with hammocks, both hot and cold showers, there is even a pull-up bar to excercise. Each bed (really big bed) has electric socket to plug the phone/laptop, a light made of bamboo and curtains, I think I never experienced such privacy in any other hostel. Completely centric, you have everything at walking distance (city is super calm at night)! When I was there they were preparing a future bar area with rooftop.

I had my own room which was very comfortable, the bed and furniture etc. were more than adequate. It was cold so I am not sure about the A/C but it was there on the wall! The swimming pool was there as well but a large portable one that really didn't look that great, murky water etc. but you don't come to Asuncion to swim! Very nice staff, I would definitely return.

The room was so cosy! The hosts speak English, German and Spanish. There are many European tourists who have chosen the hotel. The atmosphere is friendly. Guests are gathering on an inner yard named (garden) where there is a swimming pool. There's no problem to prepare a meal because the kitchen is provided with al the cooking stuff. .
