Lake House is incredible. Try to get one of the rooms upstairs as you have a better view of the monkeys and squirrels climbing the palm trees. Not only are the hosts friendly and welcoming, they are excellent sources of travel advice and really make your travel planning easy. Bicycles are available and this is an excellent way to see the sites nearby. And the food!!! The breakfasts are absolutely scrumptious with huge helpings - you won't need lunch. The photo shows the view from the breakfast area, where you can chat with other travellers if you wish. The room is comfortable and clean. Unlimited drinking water available day and night. Lake House isn't about having enough power points (there aren't) or having a wardrobe or similar for your stuff (there isn't). It's about unbelievable value, in all senses of the word.

My stay at Corner Cottage will remain a positive memory of my time in Sri Lanka. Gihan and his wife truly care for all of their guests, looking after their wellbeing and also allowing for independence and privacy. It felt to nice to be well cared for, especially when traveling alone. Gihan can help arrange tours and activities and will take you himself in his Tuk Tuk when available. They have bikes for hire and I enjoyed riding all around Anuradhapura a couple of times. Their food is amazing! In the past they owned a restaurant and it shows. A huge variety and the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I am gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating to my diet. You can tell they care a lot about their business, investing in it and caring for their clients. Extend your stay, you won’t regret it. There’s much to see In Anuradhapura and you’ll not want to leave Corner Cottage.

Emerald Home Stay is gunstig gelegen in het centrum van Anuradhapura, en biedt een terras en uitzicht op de tuin. We had a wonderful stay here! The rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the accommodation is well located for visiting the sites of Anuradhapura. The hosts are incredibly generous and hospitable. They did everything to make us feel comfortable and helped us organize our visits. And above all, we had the best Sri Lankan breakfast of our entire trip!!! MONI FARM HOUSE WILPATTU heeft accommodatie met airconditioning in Nochchiyagama. Er is een terras en je kunt er gebruik van maken gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Staff were amazing and host was easy to contact and flexible. Location was well out of the way with an amazing lake within a few minutes walk with trials to walk also bit perfect for Wilpattu national park. Food was really nice and the room had everything you could need.

Wilpattu Mookalan Resort heeft gratis fietsen, een tuin en gratis WiFi, en is gelegen in Habawewa, op 39 km van Kumbichchan Kulama Tank en 39 km van Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Geweldige locatie op zo’n 200 meter lopen van de ingang van het national park, ideaal om opgepikt te worden voor de safari. Zeer gastvrije familie die het resort runt. De kamers waren eenvoudig maar er ontbrak niks aan. Beide avonden hebben we erg lekker gegeten van de zelfgemaakte curry. Op de dag van vertrek heeft de eigenaar ons in zijn safaritruck naar het station van Anuradhapura gebracht voor dezelfde prijs als een taxi zou zijn. Heel leuk, want we konden buiten op een verhoging zitten en hadden een fantastisch uitzicht op het landschap.

Lake Wind ligt in Habarana, op 13 km van Pidurangala-rots en 13 km van Sigiriya Rock, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi, airconditioning en toegang tot een tuin met een terras. Wow wat een prachtige plek. Elke ochtend een super goed ontbijt in de boomhut met zicht op het meer met de lotus bloemen die open gaan en vele verschillende vogels. Vanuit Habarana kun je verschillende mooie bezienswaardigheden bezoeken; Dambulla rotstempels en gouden Tempel, Sigiriya Rock, Pidurangala Rock, Polonnaruwa. Elke avond hebben wij bij Lake Wind gegeten. En elke keer was het eten top tegen een lage prijs. Ook kregen we verschillende tips van onze gastheer van mooie routes, waar we olifanten konden zien langs de kant van de weg etc. Ruime en vooral hele schone kamer. Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf bij Lake Wind en van de vriendelijkheid en gastvrijheid die we elke dag mochten ervaren. Dankjewel!

Swan Lake Habarana is gelegen in Habarana, op 12 km van Pidurangala-rots, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Mooie kamer in mooie tuin, heerlijk ontbijt en heerlijke diners, zeer behulpzame eigenaar voor de vele excursie mogelijkheden. Van harte aanbevolen.

Golden Ray villa is aantrekkelijk gelegen in hartje Anuradhapura, en biedt uitzicht op de tuin, een tuin en een terras. An absolute haven close to the sacred city sites of Anuradhapura. Peaceful, set back about 75m from the road. Beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming dining/reception area - exactly as shown in the photos on this site. What the photos do not reveal is the exceptional service and kindness of the owner and all of his staff. Nor do they convey the outstanding quality of the meals served. It is rare to find a welcoming home away from home as good as Golden Ray Villa and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I spent three nights at Oleena Homestay and had an amazing experience. Jeewa provided great recommendations for things to do in the area, helped organise transport, and even took me on a day trip to Pidurangala and Dambulla in his tuk tuk. The home-cooked meals by Masha were absolutely delicious — a perfect introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Jeewa and Masha truly went above and beyond to take care of their guests. I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Habarana and the surrounding area.
