Set in Colombo on a private peninsula by the banks of the historic Diyawanna Lake, Aathma Colombo House provides accommodation with a garden. I loved staying at this beautiful, proud, authentic and uncompromising Sri Lankan family home come hotel, finished as it was to the highest of standards and so very tastefully decorated, all risen up from the once lakeside bank. I was greeted by my courteous hosts on arrival, respectful of my long journey from the UK, and made to feel welcomed and comfortable right away. My accommodation was as described and expected; it was immaculate (cleaned twice during my stay of three nights) and more than adequate for my needs. The food was delicious; although breakfast was lovely, my evening meals have been the best I have had here so far, being especially well cooked and prepared, further enhancing my first-time-in-Sri Lanka experience. The hosts arranged local tuc tucs and drivers for me, usually at short notice, and we're always keen to help out, particularly with timings on my leaving day. I said that if I came to Sri Lanka again I would stay here again and I meant it. Thank you all for the quality of all of your services and your thoughtfulness throughout my stay.

Staying at this hotel was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. it truly felt like home, thanks to their warm and genuine hospitality. I have traveled many times and stayed in numerous hotels, but none have matched the comfort and care I found here. A heartfelt thanks to the owner, Mr. Shane, the manager, Sisira, and the entire staff, who went above and beyond to take care of me, especially when I was unwell. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. The food is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared with so much attention to detail. The rooms are spotlessly clean, neat, and designed to provide maximum comfort. The environment is stunning, especially with the serene riverside view that adds so much charm and peace to the stay. What impressed me further was the reasonable pricing, which is more than justified for the exceptional service and experience they provide. For me, this place has become more than just a hotel—it’s my second home. Whenever I return to Sri Lanka, I won’t be looking for another place to stay, because I’ve already found the perfect one. 💖

A recently renovated property, IGN Residence Colombo is situated in Colombo near Bambalapitiya Beach, Bambalapitiya Railway Station and Barefoot Gallery. Looking for history without kitsch I discovered this discrete Guesthouse . Away from the crowds of Colombo, the spacious room and antique charm gave me a fantastic rest after exploring Sri Lanka’s capital. With all the qualities of a classic hotel I could enjoy style and comfort while maintaining the privacy of home.

Situated in Battaramulla, 10 km from Bambalapitiya Railway Station and 10 km from R Premadasa Stadium, Studio 33 features spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. It was beautiful and clean. Spacious. Nice decor. Everything was thought of right down to an umbrella at the door.

Shalom Villa, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Rajagiriya, 8.8 km from R Premadasa Stadium, 10 km from Khan Clock Tower, as well as 26 km from Leisure World. I love the family environment and the kindness and availability from Nilu and his son. I totally recommend it.
