The glamping is very cozy, the owners are extremely friendly, the facilities are awesome, parking is easy (and although it's not super easy to drive there, the stunning view explains it all), and breakfast was great. The garden is beautiful, the doggo is gorgeous, everything was great. Unfortunately, we booked it only for one night because our schedule was tight, but it worked great as our own peaceful retreat. Since there was not much nearby and we did not want to go for a drive, we stopped by a supermarket on our way there and bought some things to cook dinner - the kitchen is fully equipped (including oil, salt, and pepper)! The aircon works both for cold and warm. Great experience, definitely recommend it!

Calheta Glamping Pods - Nature Retreat, a property with a garden, is located in Calheta, 27 km from Girao Cape, 29 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, as well as 35 km from Marina do Funchal. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation features a patio and a swimming pool. The luxury tent provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. This was the best place we have ever stayed. We loved the view so much, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The view is something you won't get over. Awesome pool, washing facilites to use (1 euro for detergent pod) and free bread for all of the pods. We highly recommend this spot & loved watching the sunset every afternoon.

It’s also a 6-8 hour round trip to pico do Areiro hiking from the shelters, just follow the markers.

The surroundings and accommodation were simply breathtaking. Dioclécio, the host, was extremely friendly and always concerned about our well-being. A special highlight were the cute donkeys that we immediately fell in love with. We would come back at any time.

Lovely cabin surrounded by mountain views, we saw so many stars at night. There's a great place to eat and drink (O Barracão), just 10 mins walk from the cabin, and it's only 20 minutes drive from Funchal (we had a rental car, but I believe there's a bus stop nearby too). It felt like a little home away from home, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent and the little kitchenette had a stove top, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fridge. Our host was wonderful, very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was absolutely perfect - ideal for a quiet escape, beautiful hiking trails all around, fresh mountain water, the shelters themselves are beautifully organized and well equipped, and the hosts have been superbly helpful throughout our stay. Plus, the donkeys on the premises were extremely sweet and friendly! Would highly recommend, and we're looking forward to going back!
