The food at the lodge restaurant was excellent. The staff members (all of them) were truly exceptional. Welcoming, kind, and thoughtful people. The evening wine tasting was superb. Our host was engaging and very knowledgeable about all of the wines from the region. She made us feel welcome.

I stayed at Aoraki suite which is very spacious, clean and comfortable. There is daily complimentary cheese board - minibar, chips and a bottle of rose are also complimentary. I tried the “Trust the Chef” dinner at the estate which is very good. Quality food plus reasonably priced wine pairing / wine menu. Breakfast was good - continental plus a la carte. Last but not least, at the retreat suite there is a very nice lobby, infinity pool and hot tub.

Each suite features quality Hungarian goose down bedding, Egyptian cotton towelling and bathrobes. Each suite also has a commercial grade coffee grinder to go with freshly roasted coffee beans. Everything was perfect! Staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The complimentary cake slices were soooo delicious! The hotel was so cosy in general and the attention to detail was great!
