Set in Pingyao and with Pingyao Ancient City Ticket Office reachable within a few steps, Tao Hotel offers concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

The hotel is located in a very representative part of the city, with the river boulevard, a large shopping gallery, a park, and a plaza with museums and a concert hall all nearby. Taiyuan does not have good public transport, so taxis are the only viable option from the railway stations. The room is spacious and offers the quality one would expect at this price and star level. The staff speak passable English – something that is, unfortunately, becoming increasingly rare in China these days.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge, bar and free WiFi, Elsewhere Hotel Inn North Street Branch is set in Pingyao, 200 metres from Erlang Temple and 700 metres from Huiwulin Traditional Wushu Gallery. The location is really nice, in the old city. The staff was amazing, very helpful and nice, made us feel at home. The room was clean and confortable. Breakfast was also good, american style.

Boasting well preserved architectural structure and attention-to-detail service, Jing's Residence is a hidden gem in the ancient walled town of Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The staffs were absolutely amazing. One of the best services I have seen so far. The hotel offers free minibar for guests and breakfast is on ala carte basis and food quality is top notch. The hotel is located in ancient Pingyao city (no car zone). Taxi would have to drop guests off at main road which is few minutes walk to the hotel. I would recommend guests to take up pick up and drop off services offered by the hotel as all streets in Pingyao looks the same (like maze) and it's relatively easy to get lost while trying to find the hotel on your own.

A Wanda Vista Taiyuan mindössze 5 perces sétára fekszik a Wanda tértől, a Kereszténység templomától és a Longtan-tótól. Beautiful and clean room with lots of amenities. The view is amazing and close to a mall with good food options. Also cute market nearby :) Very good option to stay!

Cleanliness was impeccable, ensuring a comfortable stay. What truly made my experience outstanding was the staff—the best among the best. They were incredibly kind, going out of their way to make me feel at home, creating an unforgettable, welcoming experience. Breakfast was also a delightful touch! Overall, Pingyao Yide Hotel is a perfect blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pingyao!

Our stay at the Water Hotel was absolutely incredible from start to finish. We were met by a driver at the train station to bring us to the hotel and the same was also organised for us to bring us back to the train station the next day all at no extra cost. The hotel is excellently situated in the middle of the ancient city. The room was beautifully decorated and beyond comfortable and clean. The reception staff were so professional and helpful. They helped us buy tickets to access scenic spots around the ancient city. It's a pity we could only stay the one night, we would have loved to stay longer.
