This is my second time staying here and I’ll be back, it’s the absolute best place in the area, especially if traveling with a dog. The road is actually quite easy and there are signs for the hotel: be sure to ignore the straight uphill option and instead take the slightly longer route that goes towards the beach but then winds back up the hill. Very, very helpful, kind and welcoming. Especially Leire at the reception. We came for the Marathon. This place is a perfect stay, if you want to take part in the marathon, because it’s so close to the start and finish.

Less than 5 km from the coast and beside the Basque town of Irun, this charming hotel has a lovely garden and free internet. had a wonderful stay at Hotel Atalaia on the hottest day of the summer. The staff was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful with both us and our dog. They managed to get us the last available table at their restaurant, which turned out to be amazing—the food was delicious, and the chef is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. A truly warm and memorable experience. Highly recommended!
