This ancient site needs around two or three days to appreciate properly, with numerous carved stelae (monuments) scattered around. The Hotel Rio is one of the most beautiful places I stayed in my live, Walter was super helpful with everything, he helped us to organize some tours like a walk in the jungle/ el bejuco waterfall, rafting on the Cangrejal river (for both tours we had the same guide Ozny, he was exceptional with all the information he gave us, super interesting). The hotel is just perfect, the decoration of the place, the big space we had for ourselves, the views from it were magnificent with the Pico bonito mountain. A really good place to stay a full weekend, if I go back I would for sure stay there again.

What an amazing hotel. It is so relaxing, the staff are fabulous, the breakfast & dinner is amazing. We loved chilling on the terrace looking at the views. Just outside our room we had a hammock. We didn't want to leave.
In the centre of Gracias. Tuktuk taxis passed by regularly. The fort was just a short walk behind the hotel too.
