Theres a bar, a beautiful pool and the host is fantastic and very friendly. Even took us out to buy some food anf other stuff. Helped us with everything. This place wilk make you chill out. Its worth it. There is harldy anything bad we can mention.

Situated in Puerto Maldonado, CHOMI HOUSE TAMBOPATA offers a bar. This holiday home has a garden and free private parking. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor pool. Elmer and his family, the owners, are lovely. We really felt welcome and looked after like special guests. They own a basic but lovely log cabin with a pool on their property. We stayed there one night before doing our 3 days trip into the Amazon and it was perfect. They did provide local breakfast as part of the room fees and a lovely dinner at a reasonable price.

At the country house, every unit is fitted with a patio. A terrace with garden views is offered in each unit. All units have a private bathroom, free toiletries and bed linen.

Sightseeing tours are available in the surrounding area. An indoor play area is also available at the country house, while guests can also relax in the garden. A really lovely, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by the sounds of nature, with all the little whooping, scratching, hooting critters that abound. Nicholas, the host, was so helpful in sorting us out with various things, including day trips. It is quite a way from town so organise your food and drinks before you arrive, and don't be fooled by the distance on the map - the real distance is further as you bounce around swerving round potholes. Some taxis might not make the journey depending on the season. Here be dragons....

Guests at the country house can enjoy fishing and walking tours nearby, or make the most of the garden. It was really lovely to stay at D'Coco house right on the Tambopata river, surrounded by the beautiful jungle. The bird sounds throughout the day making it extra special and tranquil. The kitchen was well equipped and I was happy to make my own meals, apart from the delicious breakfast and fresh juice which was served to me in the comfort of my room. My hosts Wally and Ricardo were very friendly and considerate and were always available to answer any questions. They also organised a taxi for me from Puerto Maldonado and back when it was time for me to leave. The bungalows are quite a drive outside of the town, and so it was really good to experience the quietness on the beautiful river bank. I was one of the first guests to enjoy this lovely place, and I think with a few small adjustments this D'Cocos House will be a very popular place to stay.
