The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has a lot to offer to the tourists who want to know about the history of Sri Lanka. It has so many ruins and monuments to view, and especially marvel at the stone crafting abilities of ancient Sri Lankans who have created so many buddhist states and artistic monuments by using rocks. Ruins is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff is very nice. The food, the rooms are amazing. I invite all local and foreign people to come here and have fun. Located outside the city, it is a quiet and pleasant place to stay. In all respects, Ruins is a beautiful hotel located in Polonnaruwa. The site seeing of historical places were the best. Most of the time we ate at the hotel and visited some locals and shared a meal with them. Rooms are large, spotlessly clean and lovely views over the rice fields. Breakfast is lovely & plentiful too. The hotel has a beautiful tropical landscaped garden with magnificent pool area which is welcome at the end of a hot day traipsing around the ancient site. The hotel is a family run business where the young members are the front of house and do a great friendly job.
