Dolgellau is a really lovely place and it retains its character with all the original stone buildings. It has everything that you need for a holiday trip with nice cafes and pubs. It has a funny little one-way traffic system and you soon get used to it. It is a great place and I truly recommend a stay here.

There is a community annual newspaper available listing and describing a variety of hikes. I personally took the Precipice trail, a two hour easy to moderate trail, only about 4 km from town, with it's own courtesy carpark and toilets. Minimum elevation change with scenic views. Would highly recommend the Stag Inn and Royal Ship hotel for food and drink. The Torrent Walk hotel was also a favorite.

Dolgellau is an old market town which has never been rich ... it's location right on the southern edge of the National Park isn't doing much to improve this. BUT the small town centre is a warren of charming old buildings and as new businesses arrive to replace those that have closed or are clearly struggling I genuinely believe this place could become a humming tourist spot. As it stands there are several great places to eat, pubs that oose character and despite trying quite hard I failed to find a bad pint in any of them!

Dolgellau is a nice small town in a beautiful area, ideal for long walking or cycling holidays. The Mawddach Trail to Barmouth is mostly excellent with stunning views, except for one section after leaving Dolgellau where the path was either non-existent or very hard to find. I think the pubs and restaurants were adequate but probably more suitable for a family or couple than a single person.

Lovely location, the flat is really central to the small town of Dolgellau. Served as a great hub for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding coast. The bed was comfy and the flat as a whole was really charming and nicely decorated. There was everything we needed within the kitchen to be able to cook breakfast and dinners. There was a lovely welcome basket with a voucher for the bakery across the road and other ideas for the area. We rented bikes from Dolgellau Cycles and really enjoyed the Mawddach Trail.

The suite is well equipped and comfortable, having everything we needed for a stay of 3 nights. Breakfast was excellent with a really good choice (pancakes, full English, breakfast baps and/or continental). The owners are lovely and the Hall is an amazing place with beautiful decor (definitely not your boring standard hotel decor). Parking was great for motorbikes and the patio area had comfy chairs and an amazing view.

The property was excellent. Warm welcome, good off road parking and great room. Jan and Julie were very friendly and made us feel at home and recommended some great places to eat. Ideal place to stay for exploring north Wales, and the property was right in the middle of town which had plenty of places to eat and drink.

It's a very comfortable cottage with bedrooms upstairs, away from kitchen sounds. We had a very warm welcome with fresh eggs and beans. Dolgellau is a beautiful town with narrow streets, old pubs and a large rugby field, mountains and woods all around and only a 45 min drive to Harlech beach.
