    Enjoyed the river walk ; learning about some of the community history . Easy to drive thru & connect with our route south . The city should put strong police enforcement in place against loud motorcycles burning thru streets and along the main roadway. Annoying & dangerous.

    Matane has the friendliest folks in the entire province.

    Matane has the friendliest folks in the entire province. Most tourists just drive through but there are places for kids, restos for the whole family,a marina to enjoy, a cinema, big stores and small artisanal boutiques. There is a really neat walkway along the river and a well-designed access to the water and beaches. For the naturalist there is a place t watch salmon going upstream.

    The main building as shown on the site is as promoted with pool bar and restaurant. However, they should make it clear that this is what you are not getting, if you are located in the adjacent building.

    We were just passing through off the ferry and expected a Travelodge, having not used a Riotel before, but were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel and the welcome, at a very good price. We were able to enjoy the sunset by a firepit on the beach with a good beer, and use the pool. In the morning we had a very good home cooked breakfast. The room itself was comfortable with good facilities. The staff were all friendly and accommodating.

    This hotel is like your old slippers...a bit worn but very comfortable. The rooms were a generous size and the view from the balcony was great. Breakfast in the dining room was worth the cost. It had a very Old World feel.

    The room was beautifully decorated in a Victorian style. The bed was very comfy. Home is located just a few steps from the boardwalk of Matane.
