The room was absolutely stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed for comfort and style. The location itself was gorgeous, surrounded by natural beauty and offering the prettiest night sky I’ve ever seen. Our host, Kenji, was incredibly helpful and kind, he not only shared great suggestions for local restaurants but even offered to call ahead and make a reservation for us. The entire stay was peaceful and relaxing, and if it had been possible, I would have gladly booked a few more nights just to enjoy the stunning views and quiet atmosphere.

We rented a car at Kochi Ryoma Airport. The guesthouse was conveniently located near the airport and the freeway, making it easy to access our destination, Dogo Onsen. Initially, I was concerned about parking, but the guesthouse was on a wide road, which is important to know when renting a car in Japan. It was simple to maneuver in and out of the parking spaces located behind the house. The guesthouse was in the town of Noichi, where we enjoyed delicious meals at nearby restaurants. Additionally, its central location between my two other destinations, Kochi-shi and Aki-shi, meant that I didn't have to drive a lot in one day. Our host, Kyoko-san, was incredibly friendly and kind. Since it was the off-season, she gave the three of us two rooms, which allowed for a comfortable stay. I slept well during our time there. Unfortunately, I lost a hubcap from the rental car—it's a long story. On our departure morning, Kyoko-san went out of her way to prepare breakfast for my son and me. After saying our goodbyes, Kyoko-san called to inform us that my son had left his passport and charger behind. She kindly brought them all the way to the airport for us. Overall, I felt that the guesthouse was truly a home away from home.

The house itself was super fun and quirky and the room was the perfect size for three people. Maki was also super kind and gave us a ton of great restaurant and experience recommendations for Kochi!

Our host Chris was also kind and super helpful, he gave us tips and recommendations. I wish we had more time to know the place and Chris’s family, too. Thank you so much for having us!

When we stayed here, we were the only guests, and we had the whole place to ourselves. It was great to unwind in the tranquil setting after a week on the road. Our room overlooked the crystal clear river and the forest, which was totally amazing. We were only a few minutes walk away to enjoy some forest bathing. The location was in a local village, and it was fantastic to walk around.

This Guesthouse was truly a hidden gem. Located in a quiet little fishing village, everything about it was amazing. Clean, tidy, comfy bed and very cosy. All amenities had been thought of for a visiting traveller to make them feel right at home. I would like to give a special mention to the host who helped me after an unfortunate incident. She went above and beyond in helping me with my onwards travel. She is a very caring person. I will definitely be back!
