The apartment is spacious, quiet and 2 minutes walk to supermarkets and restaurants. The wifi is good and there is Netflix. It’s in a nice neighbourhood with a local feel to it. As such, restaurants are very reasonably priced as they are not tourist traps. Above all, the couple that runs the apartment, Sandra and Ricardo, are so caring and attentive to any need or question you might have. They are wonderful, charming hosts! I would definitely return.

Deluxe B&B "Casa Alegria", Tarrafal se nachází v destinaci Tarrafal. Pláž Praia De Mar Di Baxu je 500 metrů odtud. It is difficult to know where to begin! From arrival we felt welcomed. The hotel is well designed, the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There are so many little touches to make it feel you’ve arrived to stay with family or friends. Our host Irene is enthusiastic and super helpful. Offering suggestions and help for every travel question (and we had many)!! Breakfast was ample and covered all the bases as to offerings that were fresh and yummy! Our airport transfers went smoothly. Excellent drivers in both directions. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our days here and highly recommend Casa Alegria as a great base to visit the northern end of Santiago.

The room was amazing but the family who owns the property made the stay even better. They are super kind and accommodating, would definitely stay with them again.

Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

Location: The apartment is situated in a nice quiter location with a good view from the front. Cleanliness: Everything was neat and tidy, which made for a pleasant stay. Hospitality: The host was an amazing and friendly person. His warm welcome made me feel right at home. He was always available for questions and ready to help whenever I needed it. Overall: I am very satisfied with my stay in this apartment. The combination of the great location, the tidiness, and especially the host's hospitality made my experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

The property, the decor and everything else about it. It's very private even though you have neighbors who were very welcoming, BTW. The neighbor offered us mangoes and even eggs from her chicken. People from Santiago are very warm and welcome people; this is all over Santiago. Yolanda cooks very nice meals at her restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
