Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Pool was great and plenty of lounge chairs with sun and shade. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast made to order and plentiful. Dinners also tasty.

Everyone at Kita Kiblu is so kind, welcoming and fun; when my travel plans changed last minute I was welcomed back as a friend and I very much hope to visit again soon. As a solo traveller, it was very easy to socialize with guests due to the friendly vibes, lovely bar with views of the sunset and the communal dining. The food at lunch and dinner was excellent and incredibly good value - we had a three course dinner including fresh fish every day and vegetarian guests are well catered-for. My room was very cute and the outdoor shower is lovely. The whale shark encounters were very well-run and Luka, the whale shark interns and the boat crew ensured we had a good experience. The manager Betty works so hard to look after everyone and creates a very special atmosphere on Mafia Island. Eva and the reception staff were super friendly and really helpful! I would recommend Mgeni to those who are traveling, either alone or in groups, and are looking for a budget and authentic homestay option.
