Staff were very helpful, although I don't think they spoke much English. There's a noodle place that's part of the business which made for a nice dinner, although isn't listed on Google maps. I had a single room which was comfy and warm. Very clean, building looks brand new, comfy lounge that also functions as a co-working area. Soundproofing was bad to nonexistent but I found it wasn't an issue during my stay. They also give you a free voucher to a local onsen roughly a 10 minute walk away, I used it and the onsen was very nice.

Host was very accommodating and provided enough privacy even though it was a guesthouse. I enjoyed the design of the rooms and the easy access to the beautiful view of the Noto sea.

The location was absolutely stunning: our window was just few meters from the sea and raising from the futon in such a lovely room, literally full of sun was wonderful. The host was very kind and prepared for us a tasty traditional japanese breakfast. I loved to speak with her, just before leaving, about the earthquake and its consequences in the life of the island.

Although the aftermath of the 2024 earthquake is still very present, Kuroshima is gradually reviving. One example is this guest house. The host is quite pleasant, and the amenities are excellent. Obviously, the location is the cherry on top.

The Sailor’s house provided for an exceptional stay. The house is beautifully appointed and decorated. Our hosts were delightful, very helpful and interesting. They are very involved in their community and the rebuilding and preservation of their village.
