They generously shared insights into fascinating, off-the-beaten-path destinations that I would have never discovered otherwise. These unique recommendations added so much depth to my exploration of the surrounding area. The relaxed vibe extended to the morning routine as well. I appreciated the flexibility around breakfast times—there was no rush, and I could enjoy my morning meal even if arriving at the end of the schedule, savoring it without feeling hurried. This laid-back approach contributed significantly to the overall feeling of comfort and ease during my stay. My accommodation was a charming little house entirely constructed from wood, with thoughtful and attractive decorations that created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The eating area followed suit, adorned with vintage decorations and decorative natural flowers, making every meal feel special. Having a parking spot right next to my house added an extra layer of convenience, simplifying my daily excursions. While the accommodation didn’t offer dinner during my stay due to the low season, this turned out to be a hidden blessing. It led me to explore the nearby city of Hofn, where I discovered some fantastic restaurants for my evening meals. In summary, my stay at Árnanes Country Hotel was nothing short of delightful, thanks to the incredible warmth of the owners, the beauty of the surroundings, and the comfort of my accommodation. I left feeling refreshed and grateful for the experience.

Set just 1 km from Hornafjördur Airport. Free WiFi access. The Route 1 Ring Road is right next to the guest house. A seating area and work desk feature in all guest rooms at Seljavellir Guesthouse. The room are clean and modern and there’s nice kitchen as well.

Just 1 km off Iceland’s Ring Road, this privately-run guest house is 4 km from Höfn town centre. It offers free WiFi, scenic views of the surrounding nature and a furnished terrace in the garden. We stayed two weeks here to work in the area, we really appreciate the place. Thank you very much for taking care of the place and checking on us. We felt comfortable and that is precious when staying a long time from home working everyday on the field.

The property was lovely & clean and well equipped for cooking, but could do with a proper sofa/settee as the one in the property was a little uncomfortable to sit on. Could also do with a dust pan and brush. Apart from that it was lovely.

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull. Very nice hotel, clean, easy check in. Amazing place for one night stay. If you’re traveling on an Iceland golden circle - perfect location.

With its scenic views of Hornafjördur Lagoon and Vatnajökull Glacier, this guest house offers rooms with bright, country-style décor. WiFi and parking are free. Höfn town centre is only 2 km away. Self check in was easy and quick, everything was organised for when I arrived. Room was clean and although basic had everything I needed. I had a good nights sleep and didn’t get troubled by any noise. The access room to the property is a short gravel road but fine for cars. The car park was busy but is large enough to accommodate plenty of cars. The shared kitchen was large and clean. The free coffee machine was appreciated and delivered good coffee. There was enough equipment and utensils to cook your own meal and indeed some people were doing so. Check out was easy and the location of the hotel was just a free miles from the town so easy to get to via car. I would be happy to stay here again.
