They arranged a surprise for us as well Apartment was clean had all the mod cons we needed, they arranged food and drink as we were arriving late. Apartment is conveniently located east access to the airport, or to get a bus, the metro or an Uber into Bilbao.

The young woman at the front desk was very helpful in arranging a wee hours taxi, giving directions and explaining that there never was AC upstairs. I enjoyed the friendly little cafeteria/bar (AC) and saw that the large terrace was popular with local people. i was in Basque territory-hopa.

Orasul imbina in mod armonios trecutul medieval (fondat imediat dupa anul 1300) cu realizari moderne deosebite: Podul Vizcaya (de la 1890, exceptionala ideea, perfect functional si astazi), Podul Zubizuri (Calatrava), muzeul Guggenheim, sculpturile stradale, cladirile din sec. XX (stilul eclectic), Templul Athletic Club de la San Memes, etc, etc. Este impresionant ce eficient si elegant a trecut orasul de la statutul de centru industrial poluant si energofag, in sensul mijlocului de secol XX, la statutul actual de oras care traiesti din industrie moderna de inalta tehnologie, servicii si..turism. In plus, este un oras foarte , foarte sigur, nu te simti niciodata deranjat sau agresat de nimeni! Un alt argument PRO: cu cardul universal BARIK calatoresti foarte comod si foarte ieftin cu toate mijloacele de transport, inclusiv cu ferry-boat de la pod Vizcaya !!
